Whitney Houston Sought Plastic Surgery Weeks Before Death

Whitney Houston passed away last Saturday, February 11, at the age of 48. According to Fox News, just two weeks before her death she sought plastic surgery. The surgeon performed a routine medical examination to make sure that Whitney was healthy enough for cosmetic surgery. However, she failed the test, and the surgeon refused to operate on her.

While Whitney's cause of death is still undetermined, many people believe that drugs may have played a role in her demise. The singer has publicly battled addiction for many years. Her history of drug use --- whether strictly in the past, or ongoing -- may also have caused her failed medical exam, resulting in her inability to undergo plastic surgery.

A source told Radar Online that Whitney wanted a facelift and was concerned about her aging appearance over the last months of her life. She apparently sought facelift surgery from Dr. Marc Mani. According to the source, Whitney's cosmetic surgeon Dr. Mani declined to perform the facelift procedure when tests showed that her lungs, heart, and liver were not strong enough for him to perform an elective cosmetic procedure. Dr. Mani refused to provide further comment on Whitney's case, citing medical privacy laws.
